Beans in Javanese coconut sauce

Plan

  • 90 grams of Javanese spice paste
  • 300 grams of meat substitute or tofu (tofu)
  • 50 grams of mushrooms
  • 150 grams green beans
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 100 ml coconut milk
 

Optional

  • serundeng
  • fried onions

Prep

  • Finely chop the onion.
  • Dice the meat substitute or tofu
  • Cut the mushrooms into pieces
  • Wash and dice the green beans

Pleasure

  • Heat the oil and add the onion and spice paste and fry briefly
  • Add the meat substitute or tofu and stir-fry for 3 minutes over high heat until done
  • Add the mushrooms and green beans and stir fry 2 minutes
  • Add coconut milk and stir well
  • Close pan over medium-high heat for a few minutes until green beans are cooked but still crisp.
  • Add salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Serve in a nice bowl and decorate with fried onions and Serundeng.

Pssst...

  • For more sauce, add more coconut milk at the end. If it is not strong enough, add some more spice paste.
  • Eat with rice, Surinamese fried rice or Javanese noodles.
  • Roll it in a wrap or omelet and serve with Surinamese peanut sauce and bean sprouts or make Javanese omelet wrap to go with it
